Free explanatory translation:  The year 1513, the month of November, the eighth day. Abbot Gherasie, by the mercy of God Bishop of Mehadia and Caransebeș, convey my blessed order to all the abbots, deacons and priests. I hereby inform you of the arrival at the seat of our bishopric of Voivode Ioan de Zápolya, the governor of Transylvania, who handed us a command, ordering that all the serfs who rebelled under Gheorghe Doja, thus sinning, should no longer be accepted in the bosom of the church and not to receive communion. Ioan Zápolya also requested that they be banned and expelled from the church, and that their burial be done without a priest. Based on the prerogatives of the episcopal office, I hereby send you the following:

SERVICE ORDER

In accordance with the provisions of the Synod and the Statute for the organization and operation of the Romanian Orthodox Church (ROC), you will take all the necessary measures to ensure the unimpeded access of the serfs to the church, reminding you of your spiritual obligation for them to confess, share and Christian burial. Through the lens of the job description, I remind you of the obligation to comply exactly with the present „Episcopal Order of Service”, bearing in mind that the Romanian Orthodox Church (BOR) has no subordinate relationship with the Transylvanian Government.

Consequently, the provisions issued by the governor of Transylvania, Ioan de Zápolya, are invalid and null and void, the clergy having the obligation to follow only the provisions and orders of the BOR bishop. Consequently, I ask you to ignore the order of the governor of Transylvania and submit to the episcopal dispositions, because God has given us, the priests, the grace of blessing and not that of anathema, a biblical precept that was communicated to voivode Ioan de Zápolya on the occasion of the meeting, at the hearing of which he behaved inappropriately, essentially impolite.

But You will strictly comply with this Service Order. Any deviation or non-compliance will be punished according to the church canons in force, going up to the exclusion of offenders from the church order. In fact, the serfs are Christians, and the scales of judgment are held by God alone, not by us. In law the disregard of this Episcopal Service Order by one or more recipients will be treated as a serious violation of the spiritual mission assumed by us at the time of ordination and appointment.

In addition, the offenders will be subjected to the penalties provided for and criminalized by the Law of the Medieval Holy Synod (MHS), elaborated within the Councils of Nicaea in the years 325 and 787 AD, in conjunction with the provisions of the Council of Constantinople dated 11.03.843 AD et seq., with all the consequences that will arise from the provisions of these edicts.

Um auf die erzieherische Rolle eines guten Buches zurückzukommen, erinnern wir uns an die bestehenden Lücken in diesem Segment, die Molière feststellte: Wir sind nicht nur verantwortlich für das, was wir tun, sondern auch für das, was wir nicht tun. In diesem Sinne sollte die rumänische orthodoxe Kirche den Priestern die Ausübung heidnischer Rituale verbieten (Exhumierung der Toten und Befreiung der Verstorbenen von Untoten und zu Lebzeiten angesammelten Flüchen), was insbesondere die Schändung von Leichen durch diese nichtchristlichen Handlungen betrifft. Traducere liberă explicativă: „Anul 1513, luna noiembrie, ziua a opta13 . Starețul Gherasie, din mila lui Dumnezeu episcop de Mehadia și Caransebeș, transmit tuturor egumenilor, protopopilor și preoților binecuvântata mea poruncă. Vă comunic pe această cale sosirea la sediul episcopiei noastre a voievodului Ioan de Zápolya, guvernatorul Transilvaniei, care ne-a înmânat un ordin, prin care dispune ca toți iobagii care s-au răsculat sub Gheorghe Doja, păcătuind astfel, să nu mai fie acceptați în sânul bisericii și să nu li se acorde împărtășania. Ioan Zápolya ne-a mai solicitat ca aceștia să fie anatemați și alungați din biserică, iar înmormântarea lor să se facă fără preot. În baza prerogativelor funcției episcopale, vă transmit pe această cale următorul:

ORDIN DE SERVICIU

În conformitate cu prevederile Sinodului și Statutului pentru organizarea și funcționarea Bisericii Ortodoxe Române (BOR), veți lua toate măsurile ce se impun pentru asigurarea accesului nestingherit al iobagilor în biserică, reamintindu-vă obligația duhovnicească ce vă revine ca aceștia să fie spovediți, împărtășiți și înmormântați creștinește. Prin prisma fișei postului, vă reamintesc obligația respectării întocmai a prezentului „Ordin de serviciu episcopal”, cu mențiunea că Biserica Ortodoxă Română (BOR) nu are nicio relație de subordonare față de Guvernul Ardealului. În consecință, dispozițiile emise de guvernatorul Transilvaniei, Ioan de Zápolya, sunt neavenite și nule de drept, clerul având obligația de a urma doar dispozițiile și ordinele episcopului BOR.

În consecință, vă solicit să ignorați ordinul guvernatorului Transilvaniei și să vă supuneți dispozițiilor episcopale, pentru că Dumnezeu ne-a dat nouă, preoților, harul binecuvântării și nu pe cel al anatemei, un precept biblic care i-a fost comunicat voievodului Ioan de Zápolya cu ocazia întrevederii, la auzul căruia acesta a avut o conduită neadecvată, în esență necurtenitoare. Veți respecta cu strictețe prezentul Ordin de serviciu. Orice abatere sau neconformare va fi pedepsită conform canoanelor bisericești în vigoare, mergându-se până la caterisirea contravenienților din ordinul bisericesc.

În fapt, iobagii sunt creștini, iar cumpăna judecății o ține doar Dumnezeu, nu noi. 13 Ziua de 8 noiembrie, sărbătoarea arhanghelilor Mihail și Gavril, este prăznuită de toate bisericile creștine – inclusiv de cele din răsăritul creștin (începând cu veacul al cincilea d. Hr.). În drept, nesocotirea prezentului Ordin de serviciu episcopal de către unul sau mai mulți destinatari va fi tratată drept o gravă încălcare a misiunii duhovnicești asumate odată cu hirotonisirea și numirea în funcție. În subsidiar, contravenienții vor fi supuși pedepselor prevăzute și incriminate de Legea Sfântului Sinod Medieval (SSM), elaborată în cadrul Conciliilor de la Niceea din anii 325 și 787 d.Hr., coroborate cu prevederile Conciliului de la Constantinopol din data de 11.03.84314 d.Hr. și urm., cu toate consecințele ce vor decurge din prevederile acestor edicte15 .

Revenind asupra rolului educativ al unei cărți bune, vom aminti lacunele existente pe acest segment, enunțate de Molière: Nu suntem responsabili doar pentru ceea ce facem, ci și pentru ceea ce nu facem.

În acest sens, BOR ar trebui să interzică preoților exercitarea de ritualuri păgâne (dezgroparea morților și – pomeniri – pentru eliberarea de strigoi a defuncților și de blesteme acumulate în timpul vieții) și mai ales profanarea cadavrelor prin aceste acțiuni necreștinești. Putem conchide: Educația, înainte de toate! Sau: Bunăstare prin educație.

Ovim vas obaveštavam o dolasku u sedište naše biskupije vojvode Jovana Zapolje, guvernera Transilvanije, koji nam je uručio nalog da svi kmetovi koji su se pobunili pod Đorđem Dožom, a čime su pogrešili, više ne smeju biti primljeni u krilo crkve i ne smeju da se pričešćuju. U skladu sa crkvenim propisima, podsećam vas na obavezu striktnog pridržavanja „Biskupskog reda službe”, uz napomenu da Rumunska pravoslavna crkva (RPC) nema podređeni status u odnosu prema vladi Transilvanije. Posledično, odredbe koje je izdao guverner Transilvanije, Jovan Zapolja, nevažeće su i ništavne, a sveštenstvo ima obavezu da sledi samo odredbe i naredbe biskupa rumunske pravoslavne crkve.
